Anthills
4
For the fourth time in the brief but altogether
fascinating history of humankind, the folks at Centennial Press
have proven yet again, there’s more than one way to throw
words down on a page. Printed on single sheets of craft paper, Anthills
4 is an elegant, 17 x 25” two-sided poster-cum-broadsheet,
which folds down into the handy-dandy portable carry-about size
of approximately 5.5” x 6.25” – fitting almost
perfectly into an oversized winter coat pocket.
One
side of the broadsheet acts as a poster that is, might we concede,
somewhat reminiscent of the beautified – albeit rough –
aesthetic of mimeo press manifestations, complete with print overlay
and font foliation. As one witness present at the time of printing
said to someone else present at the time of printing, “This
is one hella good work of art.” The poster’s flipside
contains all 32 poems, resplendent in columned formation. Wanna
know how many words? Okay …4,636! |
